People's Daily: China Library Annual Meeting Commends Library Model Characters for the First Time

Dongguan, November 22 (Reporter Wang Jue) On the 22nd, the "2012 Annual Conference of Chinese Libraries - Annual Conference of Chinese Library Society · Chinese Library Exhibition" opened in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. The opening ceremony of the annual meeting specially added the awarding link of "2012 Chinese Library Model Characters". Eight people including Chu Shuqing, director of Hangzhou Library, and Sarengaowa, an expert in Dunhuang Literature Group of the Ancient Books Library of the National Library of China, won the awards. Industry "role models" for recognition and awards.

         The theme of the annual meeting is "Cultural Power - Libraries' Responsibilities and Missions". It is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the People's Government of Guangdong Province. It is the highest-level and largest industry event in the Chinese library industry.
